Sign permits: a how-to guide for increased profit and peace of mind

Cy Atikinson
Five Star Permits

Cy and David Atkinson of Five Star Permits are Canadian sign permit specialists. Founded in 2004, they have worked with more than 500 municipalities across Canada. This will be a small working group, so register early and bring your questions.

Helping your client get a sign permit is a valuable service – and that can add to your bottom line. It’s also a form of “insurance” against future problems between you, your client and the city. Once you have a sign permit, you know that you can safely manufacture and install the sign your client has been dreaming of.

This presentation is designed for sign companies who want to obtain permits for their clients, and specifically for the people in your company who will perform this task. It’s a step-by-step demonstration:

• What are the requirements for a permit
• Where to find the information on a city website
• How to put it all together

"The Price is Right: Proper Job Estimates and Pricing Techniques to Maximize Profitability"

Tim Pedrick
Senior Estimator
Hi Signs
The Fath Group

The Price is Right

Proper Job Estimates can be one of the most critical and at the same time frustrating components of running a business. "Winging It" might seem like an enticing option when you don't know where to begin. But if you are not fast enough - you could lose jobs to competition or even lose money if the job wasn't priced right. In trying to get out fast and accurate estimates, sign companies often have to sacrifice one of the two qualities. What's worse - sometimes they miss the mark on both counts.

This interactive session will address what estimating is and is not. We will discuss factors sign companies need to consider when building an estimate, share best practices to enable you to create the most accurate estimate in the fastest time and to provide excellent customer service that keeps your clients returning time and time again.

Light breakfast is included, with coffee, tea, etc
Admission is free for members; covered by SAC
Admission for non-members is $80.00 (includes all employees in company)
